DuoBox privacy policy
Effective October 2, 2026.
DuoBox collects no data. Period.
- No accounts. The app has no sign-in and never asks who you are.
- No analytics or tracking. DuoBox doesn't collect usage data, device identifiers, location, or anything else, and contains no third-party code that does.
- No microphone. DuoBox records only the sound it makes itself. It never listens to the room.
- Your recordings stay on your phone. Takes and settings are stored only on your device. A recording leaves the phone only when you share it yourself. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Purchases go through Apple. The $4.99 unlock is sold and checked by Apple through the App Store. I receive only Apple's standard aggregate sales reports, which contain no personal information.
- MIDI stays between your devices. If you turn on MIDI out, DuoBox sends the notes you play to devices you connect over Bluetooth or your Wi-Fi network. That's why it asks for Bluetooth and local network permission, and only when you turn those features on. Nothing is sent to me or anyone else.
If any of this ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change ships, and the app's listing will say so.
